I have always loved the idea of jewelry, especially earrings, as a wearable art form that you can carry around with you and display every day. I also love making tiny things so my latest foray into jewelry making is this ongoing series of hand-painted earrings celebrating the flora, fauna, and landscapes of Alaska. The paintings are done with acrylic on wooden beads. I then assemble the earrings and add accent beads, some of which I make from upcycled fishing buoys.
